Stripe/wrap combos are the best combos to begin with, but bear in mind that as soon as you unlock the chocolate it is going to spread and limit your moves.
Once you get candies into the jelly you can match them or use colour bombs.
The frog and fish will help a lot once uncovered, the frog will clear a layer of jelly off a whole section of the bottom. The fish will always go for jelly, even if it doesn't have a candy in it.
